With one Tuesday left in May sweeps, ABC slipped past CBS again in the overnight-metered market ratings (May 15) with a 9.8 rating/15 share (10.1/16 last week), with CBS pulling a 9.1/14 (9.1/14) behind "Judging Amy" for second. NBC remained third, 7.9/12 (7.5/11), hurt by poor performance of its 8 p.m. comedies. FOX and "That '70s Show" took fourth, 6.5/10 (6.0/9), followed by The WB with a 4.6/7 (4.7/7). UPN continued to do poorly on the night, 2.0/3 (2.1/3).

NBC continued to burn off episodes of "Fighting Fitzgeralds," taking only a 5.2/8 (4.8/8), followed by "3rd Rock From the Sun," 4.7/7 (4.6/7). A new hour-long "Frasier" followed at 9 p.m., taking the night's best numbers with an 11.7/17 (10.6/16 from 9-9:30 p.m.; "Three Sisters" 8.3/12 at 9:30 p.m.). The series took a 10.8/16 in its first half-hour before rising to a 12.5/18 in its second. At 10 p.m., "Dateline NBC" slipped back down to a 7.0/11 (Katie Couric news special 8.2/13).

FOX began Tuesday with a new episode of "That '70s Show," taking a 6.8/11 (6.6/11), followed by "Titus" at 8:30 p.m., 6.1/9 (5.7/9). At 9 p.m., "Dark Angel," which is expected to move to Fridays next season, took a 6.5/10 (6.0/9).

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" started the night with a 4.7/8 (4.8/8) on The WB, followed by a new episode of "Angel" at 9 p.m., 4.6/7 (4.7/7).
