This was the last new episode for 2000 and all I can say is…wow!! That's it, that's the end of the review. See you next year!! If only it were so easy. I actually have no idea if anyone reads these reviews, except for my friends who I threaten with bodily harm if they don't, but I do them anyway. It's a chance for me to rant and rave I guess. Anyway, DARK ANGEL is a good show to review. It has been one of this years pleasant surprises. A show I will tune into week after week just to see what will happen next. I'm still bummed that it is opposite ANGEL, but I can deal. It's worth it though, because the world that James Cameron has created for us has gotten more and more interesting. We see an America that is no longer a super power. An America where most people are struggling to eat and make ends meat. The government is corrupt, the law enforcement is corrupt and the people can't even buy toothpaste. It's not a place I would want to live in, but it is a place I don't mind visiting once a week for an hour. This week's episode was a nice end to 2000. I was hoping for new episodes through January, but it looks like that's not going to happen. We're only on the eighth episode of the season while most shows are on their 10th or 11th. Let's get busy already!! 'Blah Blah Woof Woof' was penned by Moira Kirland Dekker. When I saw the previews I was wondering how was Max going to get out of this one. It's a good thing Lydecker works for a covert military operation. He can't look for Max out in the open for no reason. He has to have an excuse. The murder of Max's former detective was the excuse Lydecker used fortunately or unfortunately, in Lydecker's case, Max didn't kill him. Ms. Dekker had a little something for everyone in this episode, kissing, fighting, dancing, what more could a girl need. The episode was also a well-done return to the classic storyline of the hero, or in our case the heroine, getting caught between a rock in a hard place. We all seen it several times. It's the main plot device of THE FUGTIVE. The cops are hot on his trail and he has to leave town, but something happens which makes him feel obligated to stick around for a while. Of course, in the end he escapes. If he didn't that would be the end of the series, so in the end we knew Max would escape Lydecker's clutches. It was just a matter of how. The show starts with Max and Logan in a friendly chess match with Max winning again. Go Max!! They have developed a nice friendship that Logan termed as 'something' to Zack in 'Cold Comfort'. Well, that 'something' was developed a bit in this episode. When Max thought she was never going to see Logan again, she for broke and gave him a big fat kiss. Oh and what a kiss it was! Those two have some nice chemistry, not Max and Liz chemistry, but nice nonetheless. The Dream sequence was also nice. You have to feel sorry for Max. She wants so much to be normal and it's never going to happen. She has to live her life, always looking over her shoulder and now that Lydecker and company know what she looks like, it's going to be even harder for her. It was great to see Zack again and I especially loved the fight between Max and Zack. It was just too short. Zack is becoming more and more interesting and I am a big fan of William Gregory Lee. He adds a nice dimension to the show. It was also great to see Zack admit that he wished he had some of those 'sentimental lies' that makes us human. His sacrifice in the end was a big surprise to me. I know he feels responsible for Max, but Max made her choice when she went back to Seattle. Zack could have easily walked away, but he didn't. Of course it might have something to do with it being his fault Max was being hunted. I doubt very much Zack is gone for good. He will be back and I, for one, am looking forward to it. The interaction between Max and Logan at the end was great. Neither are willing to admit they have feelings for one another. I guess it would make things too complicated. The subplot doesn't even deserve mentioning this time around. Normal is a creep. Sketchy is incompetent. Next new episode will be January 9th. Looks like a good one. Until then we'll have some reruns so now is your chance to tape some episodes you missed the first time around. Happy Holidays and see you next year.
