So I'm slow, but I am trying to keep up with these. I've some e-mails complaining and I wanted to say I'm sorry. We can find someone else to do reviews here at DarkAngelFan.com or you all can just be patient. Working full time and going to law school part time isn't the easiest thing to do. I've had to cut down on my television viewing, which is depressing by itself, but I'm still enjoying DARK ANGEL and I absolutely love BUFFY this season. But let me get to the review…"Radar Love" was written by Michael Angeli. It starts out humorously enough with Joshua on the trail of Max. The scene was very well done and fun to watch. I loved the song they played, although I haven't taken the time to find out what the song is, it was a great choice. Anyway, it's not every show that has a dog man on the trail. He seems to have quite a keen sense of smell and he is able to communicate with dogs by barking. I've never seen Max try to communicate with cats. Does she purr? Okay I'm not going there! So Joshua and Cindy end up meeting and Joshua has absolutely no table manners. Of course that's not surprising, he has been living in the basement of Manticore for some time and was lucky even to get food there sometimes. We meet another Manticore freak early in the episode. He must have been a major mistake by Manticore. I can't image how they created him. Poor guy never had a chance. What kind of organization can just play with people like that? Father really could not have been a good guy. He started it all. He created Joshua and other creatures knowing that they could never hope to have an ordinary life. What was his underlying purpose? Lydecker wanted to create the perfect soldier, which in the end would end up saving lives. There was no concern that he was creating life for the sole purpose of dying. That whoever they created would never know what it meant to be alive or even human for that matter. Of course, in post-pulse America, they don't seem to be much on human rights or civil liberties. People can't even go through Seattle without being stopped at checkpoints where if they don't have the right identification they can be detained. I imagine it's like that all over the country. It's kind of scary to think about, but this America that James Cameron created lost the war on terrorism. It was terrorists that set off the electromagnetic pulse and caused America to plummet into a severe depression. I'm not saying that America could ever be like that. But when watching a show like DARK ANGEL, I'm reminded what America stands for and how lucky I am to live here. Post-pulse America lacks a great deal of civil liberties. We haven't really been told if the government structure still follows the constitution. We know the government and police are completely corrupted however and a corrupt system is enough. So I've gotten really off-topic here. Sorry about that. It's just, I'm currently sitting in an airport, watching MP's walking by with hand guns at their waste and hoping that this heightened security in America doesn't go too far. I live near DC and go to school about 6 blocks from the White House and after the September 11th attacks, I saw Hummers on the street as I was walking to class. They went away after a couple of weeks, but in DARK ANGEL's America the hummer's never went away. The increased security became a permanent fixture. I hope that never happens here. I'm going to try to get back on topic now. The new Manticore freak we were introduced was extremely disfigured and it's not surprising that everyone thought he was the cause of the virus that suddenly hit Chinatown. When I saw that guy collapse and blood coming out of his eyes and nose, I was reminded of the first episode of NOW AND AGAIN. Did anyone else watch that show? The egg-guy? Anyway, that was a great show, too bad it was cancelled. Well it turned out that the virus in Chinatown was caused by a young and sick entrepreneur played by Tyler Labine, who was on the short lived WB series DEAD LAST, another series with a lot of potential which got lost in the shuffle. While this virus was not created by Manticore, it was created for Manticore, and Max had to save the day yet again. While all this was going on, we had a little love quadrangle going on with Max, Rafer, Logan, and Asha. While I like the delicious Kris Pope as Rafer, I'm just not a big fan of Asha. Don't get me wrong, I think Ashley Scott is great in the role and I like what she brings to the show, but she just rubs me the wrong way sometimes. Maybe I just don't want her around Logan, he's supposed to Max's man after all. The scenes between Max, Rafer, Logan, and Asha were well done however, and a bit tortuous of course, but all and all an okay episode. Next week a Halloween episode!!
